The Opinion Section and Blogs at the Daily Telegraph Australia

Nowadays at the press media it's very useful to create controversy, opinions and debate, a section where the readers and especialized bloggers give their opinion. The daily telegraph australia as the most importante newspaper in Australia gives a lot of importance to this ideas. At the internet website there is an special section called "Opinion".

This section is subdivided in "Blogs", "Your say" and "Readers comments".

The blog section consists in weekly writers, journalists and bussines men who write columns with different topics. The Daily have 18 bloggers who write weekly or monthly and also there are some bloggers that are specialized and once in a while write when there are specific topics going on. This week the most read blogger is Piers Akerman who wrote a column about Julia Gillard's government, that received 185 comments from the readers. Akerman is one of The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph's best-read columnists since 1993. One of the australian most respected journalists and has worked in New York, London, Washington and Los Angeles. This column is about how Gilliard is going to "awake" the economy and solve the bank issues that are going on at Australia. She is the Prime Minister of this country and Akerman from a very critic point of view analyzed her weak work with the economy, taxes and prices.

The Your Say is a section where the readers can start a new topic of their interest expecting responses from other readers. Is an open space that lets the people create their columns. This is very useful because, this way the newspaper's editors can realize which are the topics that the readers are most interested on. To use this section, you have to be registered at the website and you don't need to use your entire name, you can choose a nickname and start writing.

The Readers coments section is different that the Your Say because, this space is used to comment about news that the paper has published. You don't creat your own column, you can comment about if you liked the news, your personal opinion or ideas related to the publication. The most comented news of the week is one related to the australian model Lara Bingle who sold some nide pictures last year to a magazine and now she regrets her decision and tells the newspaper that she is now a new woman.

If the reader doesn't like any of this ways to comunicate his opinion. There is also the option of writing a letter to the editor, if the letter is good and expresses something interested, it can be published at the paper edition and also online.
