The Daily Telegraph is an Australian tabloid newspaper published in Sydney by the NationWide News.
The Tele, as it is also known, was founded in 1879. From 1936 to 1972, it was owned by Frank Packer's Australian Consolidated Press. That year it was sold to News Limited.
This paper is considered a conservative one with a huge politic influence on Australian territory. The Telegraph's most high-profile columnists, among them Piers Akerman, are politically conservative.
